How Would an Extra $500 per Month Change Your Life?

  • 500bucks2

The U.S. economy is in tough shape right now, and consensus opinion says things are going to get worse before they get better. A lot of people are cutting back, considering a second job, and working hard to make their income stretch as far as possible.

For me, an extra $500 would give me a lot of extra breathing room in my monthly budget. It would go a long way towards achieving my goal of total financial independence. In short order, I would be free and clear of my credit cards and my car payment, allowing me to start saving all that money I’m currently throwing at monthly debt payments. I can’t wait for that day to come!

How about you? How would your life change with an extra 500 bucks per month?

We wouldn’t be struggling. We might actually be able to save for my kids college education instead of saying we’ll do it next month.

500 bucks would help with alleviating some of my current debt. I don’t think I have carried any credit card debt at all in the last 5 years, and I hope I can eliminate the debt I have accumulated in the last few months. Sometimes I really hate Christmas!

Man, an extra $500 a month would mean getting out of debt a whole lot faster. That’s just shy of a mortgage payment, and way more than my car payment. That’d let me pay off my student loans faster. That could mean some months being able to give money to charity. It would mean being able to cook the meals I’m capable of and not just what I can afford. An extra $500 a month could go into a retirement fund, or a college fund for when I hopefully have a kid one day. There’s so much that money could do.

It would mean getting out of an apartment and into a home in time to take advantage of the tax credit!

An extra $500 would make a huge difference to me. I was just laid off from my job two weeks ago today, and we have a new house/mortgage.

I’d give my son the money. An extra $500 for me would mean my son could attend college without having to work too. That would be nice.

An Extra $500 a week would mean that my credit cards would not get rung up and I’d be able to concentrate on paying them down. For those of us who are “getting by” there is no bailout. Just keeping the economy going I guess.
